On Target Tuition Reviews

We know that the best way to make an important decision about who will tutor your child is to hear from other people who have been through the same process and read reviews of our service.

Many of our parents and students have been kind enough to write On Target Tuition reviews and we couldn’t be more grateful.  Hearing positive feedback  makes teaching feel so worthwhile.  We would not have been able to run this successful business for 10 years without the support of our clients.  Word of mouth is the number one way parents hear about our services so we would like to thank everyone who has written a testimonial for us or passed on our number to their friends and family.

‘My two sons have been going to On Target for over a year now and they are both excelling in their school work. One son completed a GCSE maths module in 3rd year with nearly full marks with the help of Trevor. My other son has increased his reading age by 3 years since starting with Helen. He is now with Katrina who is very focused on getting him to reach his potential. More importantly their confidence in their own ability has greatly improved’

‘My son began attending On Target the summer before entering P5. His confidence in numeracy was rock bottom and literally within weeks I began to see such an improvement. His teacher was absolutely brilliant at boosting his self-esteem, so much so that he really looked forward to his weekly sessions. (He was a child who was absolutely terrified of maths!) His confidence continued to improve and he now works with Martin focusing on preparation for AQE (something I didn't believe would be possible!) He still really enjoys his session and Martin passes on invaluable advice reflectly his experience with the AQE process. I give complete credit to Martin and his "team" for totally transforming my son's mindset and no matter what score he achieves in his AQE, I know he is so much better prepared to enter the next phase in his education. Thank you.’

‘We decided to send our daughter Evie to On Target Tuition to gain help with mathematics ability. As parents we have seen great progress and she has become engaged in her learning and is happier to tackle the homework. The homework compliments the school agenda and Evie's confidence is noticeable. Martin is extremely professional, supportive and knowledgeable, providing a friendly, caring environment. We would absolutely recommend On Target Tuition and will continue to use the service as we feel out daughter is on course to reach her full potential’

‘Our daughter has been going to On Target for about 3 years. The pace and content of the lessons are tailored to our daughter’s needs. Equally important, the lessons support what is being taught in school, reinforcing and revising the curriculum. On Target has given our daughter much needed confidence in her literacy and numeracy, while also celebrating her development – she is very proud of her full haul of medals to mark her achievements!’

'We would wholeheartedly recommend On Target Tuition to any parent wishing to prepare their child for the Transfer Test. It has taken the pain out of what can be a stressful process. Our eldest daughter attended each week from spring 2018 to June, coming back for the summer sessions to keep things fresh, before starting back to P7 in September. It was just what we all needed! Martin has such a calm and patient approach, targeting the areas she was struggling with and explaining in simple language strategies that our daughter could employ. Come November our daughter approached the exams with confidence and when she opened the envelopes at the end of January we were all delighted. She achieved 108 in the AQE and an A in the GL with 251 (an A starts at 234!) Thank you!!'

‘My daughter, Megan, was struggling at school and as full time working parents, we found it difficult to have the time needed to spend on tutoring her. I saw an advert for On Target on Facebook and enquired about Megan attending and we haven’t looked back since. Megan has been attending On Target for a number of years now and we can see how she has grown in confidence and progressed in all aspects of her learning. Her teacher, Clare, has spent so much time teaching Megan different strategies and techniques to help her understand and learn and it’s amazing to see how confident she has become in her ability, compared to a few years ago. Thank you, you do an amazing job!’

'Sophie and Oliver have loved going to their tutor. Clare has managed to do the impossible and made extra work in the summer enjoyable and fun! Sophie had struggled to learn her times tables by heart but Clare has cracked it in a few weeks!'

We heard about On Target from a close friend and have to say, on first thought we did think, it’s a lot of money. Then there’s the ‘well they do enough in school…’ But, now, I’d say, best thing we ever did for our son. Since coming to Martin his confidence in his work is starting to shine through and the bonus is, our son loves going to his tutor!’ I would happily recommend On Target Tuition.’

‘My daughter Grace is the third in the family to attend Martin and Clare’s tuition classes. After a summer of no work at all, Grace’s scores in school in September were in the 50s and 60s (percentages) which was worrying to say the least. So I signed her up to On Target Tuition weekly and Grace worked her socks off! The result was that she achieved 107 in the AQE in November, a great score which should mean she will get into the Grammar school of her choice next September! Her youngest sister, Felicity has also just started today.’

‘My son, Joshua, has been attending On Target Tuition since the end of Primary 2. He is now in Primary 6 and I have witnessed a massive improvement in his confidence and his school work. Joshua has always shown extreme dyslexic traits in his maths and literacy. He was placed on the special needs register in Primary 2 and by the time he was in Primary 4, he was at stage three on the special needs register. Clare Rimmer from On Target has been working with Joshua one to one over these past few years, and Joshua has gone from being an introverted boy who hated school, to a confident young boy who enjoys school and has become a lot more independent with his homework. Joshua has progressed from being two and a half years behind in his reading and is now at the level he should be at. My husband and I are so thankful and delighted at the progress he has made. His teachers have witnessed the incredible progress that Joshua has made and Joshua is no longer on the special needs register. All the credit goes to Clare Rimmer and all the team at On Target Tuition.’

‘I would just like to say how much we appreciate everything you have done for Josh since starting with you. He has become more confident in the tasks that are being asked of him and he’s approaching his work more confidently too. He is becoming more forward thinking and is starting to look and think outside the box when the answers are not in black and white in front of him. We have confidence that by the time he has to sit his AQE he will be confident and completely prepared for what will be asked of him. Josh loves coming too and says how quick the time goes which is a testament to how you with him.’

‘We were recommended to visit On Target Tuition from a friend. My daughter was going in to P6 in September 2016, so we wanted to give her some extra support for the AQE. I was a little apprehensive at first as I had never done anything like this before, also we come from Belfast and I wasn’t sure about travelling to Lisburn every week. We were warmly welcomed by Martin, who gave Jessica a small test and explained the process of getting started with tutoring. We felt so happy and excited to begin the lessons. The following week, my daughter met her tutor, Michelle. Jessica was never a very confident child but she just loved Michelle and was so excited to come to her lesson each week, I even found myself bribing her during the week that if she didn’t get her work completed, she wouldn’t be going to her tutor. (Something I never thought I would hear myself say.) Jessica has become a lot more confident in lots of aspects of her life, she just seems so much more capable to complete homework, class tests and even got up and spoke in church. In Jessica’s own words: ‘Michelle goes over everything with me, when I feel nervous about anything, she helps me. I am so glad Michelle is my tutor.’ Thank you for everything, On Target has been the best choice we have made and has been worth every penny.’
