If your child is struggling with the basics in English our tutors are here to help. At On Target Tuition in Lisburn, our aim is for your child to have fun with reading and writing and give them the confidence they need to conquer English in the classroom. We tutor children from age 6 to Year 12 as well as helping students with GCSEs and retakes in Year 13.

Before the student begins tuition we carry out an assessment. This enables us to put together a programme of work focusing on areas that are weaker, perhaps needing revision or simply needing taught again. In addition, we are able to offer specific support for Transfer Test students and exam revision for CCEA exam boards.

Our English tuition is not a one size fits all study programme. If your child is struggling with a particular aspect of literacy at school we can adapt their learning plan to tackle any difficulties. Our aim is always to make them feel comfortable in the classroom and ready to take on new concepts.

Reading is the key to your child's success

Reading is perhaps one of the essential skills of life, however, for many children learning to read is a difficult experience and one fraught with confusion, anxiety and distress for both the child and the parent.

At On Target Tuition our tutors aim to put the fun back in the subject and build confidence in reading, writing, spelling and comprehension. We use a multi-sensory approach to tutor reading with an emphasis on phonics and sight word recognition.
